Who am I?
I'm Mike, composer, sound designer, adventurer, raconteur, connoisseur of sound things, lord of discovery, and holder of other equally elaborate and dubious titles.

My interest in playing and composing music began with video game sound tracks, with the first piece of music I ever learned to play being Bolero of Fire from The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time.
From learning other melodic themes within games, I began to create my own variations, and eventually began writing my own music.

My interest in sound recording and foley started when a university module tasked us with creating foley for a short film clip.

Like many, I love to visit new places and explore nature, and so going on expeditions to find interesting sounds to capture became became a new hobby.

Having to be aware of my surroundings to spot opportunities for recording gave me an attentiveness to my surroundings I had not had previously, and so has been a very positive hobby to obtain.

I also have a love for experimenting with synthesis, and so with a large supply of audio recordings, this fuelled my interest in sound design and sample synthesis.
